Include your device model, operating system version, BurstReel version, and a description of what happened. Never include passwords. Send private photos only if they are essential to explaining your question.
Make a video
- Create or open a project.
- Add your photos in sequence order using Photos or Browse Files on iPhone/iPad, or Add Photos on Mac.
- Choose the photo frame rate and video shape. Fit keeps the whole photo; Fill crops to cover the canvas.
- The video prepares automatically. You can keep changing frame rate, shape, framing, alignment, and logos while the preview renders. Each edit cancels the outdated preview; a new one starts after a short pause in editing. Play Preview to check it, then Share Video / Save to Photos, or Export Video on Mac.
On Mac, Export Video offers Save Video to File…, Add to Photos, and Share…. The system Share menu shows compatible apps and services installed on your Mac, such as AirDrop, Mail, or Messages. Photos and sharing become available when the video finishes preparing.
Send photos from another app
On iPhone or iPad, select photo files in Photos, Lightroom, or another app, tap Share, and choose BurstReel. Choose the source under Shared from. BurstReel suggests a project name containing that app and the date; edit it if you like, then tap Create Project and Done. Open BurstReel to receive the photos and prepare the video automatically.
Each share creates a separate project and preserves the order supplied by the sending app. Existing projects stay intact. Rename the new project anytime in Projects. Adding photos using BurstReel’s own Photos picker or Browse Files still adds them to the current project. iOS does not expose the sending app’s identity to share extensions, so the source is chosen explicitly.
Import an entire Apple Photos burst
Choose Import Burst from Photos on Mac, iPhone, or iPad. Allow Full Access to Photos, then select a burst by its date, thumbnail, and frame count. Every available frame is copied into the current project in capture order, including unpicked frames. The video prepares automatically. iCloud originals download as needed.
Normal sharing and the standard photo picker may provide only the representative photo; use the dedicated burst importer for all frames. Limited access may hide burst members, so this importer requires Full Access. Previously discarded frames cannot be recovered. Photos originals are kept, and a failed or cancelled burst import adds no partial sequence.
Logos
Expand Advanced. BurstReel's watermark is enabled by default; switch it off there if desired. Add your own logo, then adjust its opacity. New logos start at 50%; existing projects retain their saved opacity. Use Reset to 50% to restore the default. Both logos remain within the visible photo area. Each project saves its own logo and settings.
Choose Saved Logos… to reuse a previously imported logo in another project. Existing project logos are added automatically. Removing a logo from a project or deleting that project keeps the library copy. Projects keep independent logo choices and opacity. The saved-logo library is local to each device; logos in projects received through iCloud sync are added to that device’s library automatically.
Troubleshooting
- A photo won't import: download its original from iCloud or your file provider. Try exporting a JPEG.
- Camera movement: use Smooth pan for a moving camera. Lock to first photo works best for a stationary scene. Alignment crops edges and does not track a specific player.
- Photos access denied: enable permission in system Settings, or use Share Video to save to Files.
- Lightroom sharing: export photo files (such as JPEGs), not an album or web link. Choose BurstReel in the share sheet on iPhone/iPad, select Lightroom under Shared from, create the project, then open BurstReel.
- Projects: each device keeps a local copy. Enable optional iCloud sync in Projects on each device to share your project library.
- Deleting: deleting a project keeps your original photos and exported videos.

Sync projects with iCloud
Update BurstReel on all devices, sign in with the same Apple Account, and enable iCloud Drive. In BurstReel, open Projects and turn on Sync projects with iCloud on each device. Existing projects are included. Keep the app open while the first photo set transfers. Sync Now checks for changes; iCloud manages transfers in the background.
Photos, their order, settings, watermarks, and creator logos sync. Finished videos are generated locally. You can keep editing offline. If two devices edit before exchanging changes, both versions remain and one is named conflict copy. Deleting a synced project removes it on other synced devices; a concurrent offline edit is recovered separately.
If syncing pauses, check iCloud Drive, available iCloud/device storage, your connection, and the status message in Projects. An account change pauses sync to avoid sending the old account’s projects to a new account without your choice. Turn sync off and on only if you want the current local projects to use that new account.
Turning sync off does not erase local or cloud data. Recovery history and cached photo assets are retained. Turn sync off on every device before removing BurstReel’s iCloud storage in system Settings.
